Our client is a litigation boutique with offices in Vancouver, British Columbia and Toronto, Ontario. The firm’s lawyers have in-depth knowledge and experience in insurance, class actions and health law. Their lawyers appear before all levels of Court (including the Supreme Court of Canada) and tribunals, and practice across Canada. Many of their lawyers are members of multiple law societies, including British Columbia, Ontario, Alberta, Yukon and the Northwest Territories.
They have an opening for a junior and/or an intermediate litigation legal assistant in our Vancouver office. The successful candidate would be motivated, a quick learner and be an integral part of our friendly and collaborative team.

About the Position:
As a Legal Administrative Assistant, your duties include:
- Performing LAA work from file opening to closing.
- Drafting simple pleadings, including application records, books of authorities, appeal records and appeal books.
- Drafting correspondence.
- Filing documents with court registries.
- Communicating with opposing counsel, experts and clients.
- Maintaining BF limitation dates.
- 2+ year general office experience.
- Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to deal directly with clients and all levels of staff.
- Ability to meet deadlines under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Excellent attention to detail, organized and proactive, able to multi-task and handle changing priorities.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in MS Word and ability to learn new software and technology quickly.
- Knowledge of the BC Supreme Court Civil Rules and ability to interpret Rules and Acts.
- Experience with ProLaw an asset.
- Salary: $50,000 - $65,000 (based on experience)
