Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the full packaging specification process, including packaging design, prototype development, and performance testing.
- Lead and support Quality and Regulatory remediation projects related to packaging.
- Identify and implement packaging cost reduction and process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and procurement teams on new packaging equipment selection, including user requirement specifications, factory acceptance testing, and equipment validation.
- Manage the change control process by creating, maintaining, and updating packaging specifications and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with packaging quality and regulatory standards through regular interaction with project teams, growers, facilities, and vendors.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the Packaging department.
- Prepare regular progress reports and travel as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience in a fast-paced environment; experience in agriculture, manufacturing, or production is considered an asset.
- A strategic and creative leader with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong planning, organizational, and project management abilities.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-changing environment.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive, solution-driven approach.
- Knowledge of ASTM and ISTA package test standards is required.
