We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team in our downtown Calgary office. This role is responsible for overseeing the preparation of monthly financial statements, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, managing payroll processes, and supervising a team of three accounting staff.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and analyze consolidated monthly financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
- Oversee and manage the payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate payroll execution, tax filings, and reporting. Includes Canadian, US and International payrolls.
- Ensure ongoing regulatory and financial compliance, including tax filings, audits, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Supervise and mentor a team of up to 3 accounting professionals, including assigning tasks, reviewing work, providing feedback, and supporting professional development.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial operations and improve reporting processes.
- Prepare year end working papers and liaise with external auditors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, payroll regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Sage 300, Sage Intact, and Microsoft Excel experience preferred.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead and develop a team.
