About the Opportunity:
This is an amazing opportunity for an intermediate to senior Legal Administrative Assistant/Paralegal hybrid with experience in the area of Foreclosure/Insolvency. The role involves supporting three Lawyers. The main area of focus will be Foreclosure/Insolvency and there will be some support in the estate administration and estate litigation. This is a full-time permanent position, Monday through Friday (8.30am to 4.30pm) for someone who is detail oriented and able to work well both independently and within a team environment.

About the Position:
As a Legal Administrative Assistant/Paralegal hybrid, your duties include:
  • Draft all pleadings, letters of demand, petitions, affidavits, notice of applications for conduct and approval of sale, in respect of foreclosure matters, as well as S.92 applications
  • Prepare Certificates of Pending Litigation for filing with the Land Titles Office and letters of release and attend to the filing of all court documents with Court Services Online and other online searches
  • Prepare correspondence and documents in support of estate litigation and administration applications and prepare any ancillary documents
  • Thorough familiarity with all aspects of foreclosure proceedings, some real estate, litigation and estate administration practice areas are required
  • Timekeeping
  • Address inquiries and correspondence
  • Trial prep, if necessary
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • A Legal Administrative Assistant and/or paralegal certificate is preferred.
  • Previous law firm experience is required.
  • Proficient in administrative procedures.
  • Ability to multitask and exercise initiative and good judgement.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
  • Knowledge of Elite 3E would be an asset, as well as Filesite DMS and Office 365.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing work demands, volumes, and schedules.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.  Excellent accuracy and organizational skills.
  • A professional demeanor, with the utmost commitment to confidentiality.
Compensation:
  • Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 (based on experience)
  • 3 weeks’ vacation
  • Comprehensive benefits package
