About The Opportunity
This position is ideal for a Corporate Services Paralegal with intermediate-level experience who is looking to further develop their career in a full-service legal environment. The successful candidate will support a busy Corporate Services group, handling a wide variety of transactions, filings, and corporate compliance matters. This role offers hands-on responsibility and direct client contact, with opportunities for mentoring and file ownership.

About The Position
The Paralegal will support a corporate practice group, providing essential assistance on incorporations, reorganizations, annual maintenance, and regulatory filings. Working closely with lawyers and other legal professionals, the successful candidate will be responsible for drafting and preparing documentation, managing minute books, and mentoring junior team members. This position reports to the Corporate Services leadership and is well suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

The Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in Legal Administration or Paralegal Studies (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a corporate paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal department
  • Proficiency with BC Online, ALF database, and corporate registry procedures (BC and Federal)
  • Experience preparing and reviewing documents related to incorporations, amalgamations, dissolutions, restorations, and share transactions
  • Knowledge of the Business Corporations Act (BC), Canada Business Corporations Act, and Societies Act (BC)
  • Ability to manage files independently and liaise directly with clients
  • Capable of mentoring and supporting junior paralegals or legal administrative staff

Nice to Have
  • Familiarity with filings under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act
  • Experience handling transparency register filings and annual maintenance overflow
  • Previous experience in a mid-to-large law firm setting

Compensation
  • Salary: $70,000 – $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience
  • Benefits: Health, dental, vision, prescriptions, life insurance, hospital coverage, and overseas emergency care. 3 weeks vacation.
