Ready to lead from the front and grow meaningful large-group benefits relationships across British Columbia? As the Sales Director for Large Group Benefits, you’ll partner closely with a team of Account Executives to drive new business, strengthen advisor and customer relationships, and lead a high-performing sales environment. You’ll help shape quarterly regional plans, elevate escalated client matters, and guide your team through every step of the sales process, from request for proposal through finalist presentations and implementation support.
This is a people-leadership role with a business-development focus, built for someone who thrives on connection, negotiation, and turning opportunities into long-term wins.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coach a team of Account Executives focused on large-group benefits growth in BC
- Partner closely with AEs on day-to-day needs; step in on escalations when required
- Build and maintain strong relationships with advisors, customers, and internal partners
- Attend key in-person sales meetings and support finalist presentations
- Execute quarterly regional business plans and deliver on sales, retention, and persistency goals
- Work closely with regional service teams to ensure strong client experience and outcomes
- Promote additional products/services to support retention and cross-sell opportunities
- Manage a small book of large/complex clients as needed
- Track performance against KPIs and drive consistent team execution
- Collaborate with head office on initiatives; contribute ideas to improve products/services
- Act as a client-centric change leader and represent the organization in the market
Required Skills:
- 5 plus years of group benefits sales experience in BC, with a focus on large enterprise clients
- Business development (BD) mindset with strong ability to identify, pursue, and close opportunities
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including leading or supporting finalist presentations
- Demonstrated sales process fluency, including experience from request for proposal to implementation
- Ability to coach and lead a sales team (people leadership experience is a plus, not strictly required)
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle
Benefits:
- Competitive base salary: $130,000 to $150,000 depending on the experience plus bonus
