Our client, a growing and innovative organization with global operations in Kanata, ON, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for a 3-month contract with strong potential for extension. This role is well suited for a technically strong accounting professional who enjoys hands-on work, ownership, and close collaboration with senior leadership in a dynamic, multi-entity environment.

- Work model: Fully on-site 5 days a week at the client’s Kanata (Ottawa) office.
- Compensation: $35 to $45/hour
Responsibilities
- Lead key aspects of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close for assigned entities
- Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reports
- Prepare consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules under IFRS
- Ensure accurate accounting for complex areas such as foreign exchange and long-term balances
- Support external financial reporting, including notes and management discussion materials
- Work with external auditors and support audit requirements
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting
- Provide guidance to junior accounting staff as needed
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and automation
Qualifications
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience in a complex environment
- CPA designation completed or in progress
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS, including consolidations and multiple currencies
- Experience with complex accounting matters, reconciliations, and disclosures
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior accounting staff
- Experience with NetSuite (strong asset)
