Our client, a leading, employee-owned insurance brokerage firm, is seeking a Accounts Payables Specialist to join their Toronto, ON office. This will be a permanent opportunity!

Responsibilities:
- Reconcile monthly carrier statements for accuracy of premiums, commissions, and adjustments
- Prepare and issue carrier payments in line with agreements and policies
- Validate policy, premium, and commission data between internal systems and carrier statements
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies with carriers and internal teams
- Maintain accurate records of payments, balances, and reconciliations; support financial reporting
- Coordinate with accounting, operations, and carriers to ensure smooth payment processes
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit standards, and regulations
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate payables processes
- Validate first-time payments for accuracy and security
Qualifications:
- College or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in accounts payable, financial reconciliation, or insurance accounting
- Experience in an insurance brokerage is a MUST.
- Familiarity with broker management systems preferred
- Advanced Excel skills
