David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit for a Temporary Controller to support their growing operations.
The Controller will manage all phases of financial risk management, corporate accounting and general business strategy
Preparation of budgets and financial forecasts including report variances
Development of monthly financial statements and support of year-end close requirements
Preparation of regulatory and financial reporting ensuring quality and compliance requirements
Ongoing oversight and development of internal control policies and procedures
Management and oversight of billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory accounting and revenue recognition
Developing and supervising accounting staff
The Ideal Candidate:
Accounting designation complimented by an undergraduate degree in Accounting
Minimum 5 years of full cycle industry-relevant accounting experience
A strategic mindset and comfortable being hands on and contributing to the day to day as necessary
Positive, adaptable and resilient with the ability to work well across all levels of the organization
Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to proactively consider and address needs and respond to requests promptly
Demonstrated competency with financial statements, general ledger functions and month-end and year-end close requirements
Advanced level MS Excel and MS Word skills with a solid working knowledge of industry relevant accounting software
Strong organizational skills with the ability to work well under pressure and motivation to achieve company targets
