David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit an Outside Sales Representative based in Edmonton, AB.

Our client, a leader in the air conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation and heating sectors, is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to join their expanding team. As one of the largest independent distributors in Eastern Canada and a platinum member of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies, they are dedicated to providing their customers with a high level of customer service and support. 

The Role:

  • Market and promote the company’s products and services
  • Maintain effective regional relationships with suppliers
  • Develop and nurture relationships with existing and potential clients
  • Determine client’s needs and requirements and provide appropriate recommendation of products and services
  • Complete after sale service by following up with customers, answering technical problems, and facilitating training seminars if needed
  • Prepare annual sales budgets for territory and proposals for client accounts
  • Present technical drawings and product applications for use in HVAC-R systems (formal presentation with catalogs or audio/video material may be required)
  • Attend trade shows and seminars as required
  • Effectively use a CRM system for client account management
  • Remain informed on industry news and trends, products, services, competitors, relevant information about existing, and emerging technologies, and the latest product-line developments
The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous sales experience in the HVAC-R industry
  • Completion of secondary school and sales related training programs
  • Mechanical engineering technician graduate would be considered an asset
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Office, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Adept technical knowledge of products
  • Strong time management, organizational and decision-making skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated focus on providing quality customer service
  • Team player with the capacity to work independently when required
  • Ability to close sales, negotiate and work efficiently under pressure
  • Ability to schedule appointments, make cold calls and create presentations
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
