Our client, a well-established leader in the energy sector, has an immediate opening for an experienced Learning and Development Consultant to join their Talent Management team. The Learning and Development Consultant will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise for Talent Management matters related to: learning & development, program design, development and delivery, organizational effectiveness and engagement. A critical part of the role is to foster and maintain positive, collaborative and productive relationships with peers in Human Resources to deliver HR programs to support the business’ continued success. 

The Role:

  • Facilitates new hire orientations, employee learning programs, workshops and team sessions as required. Conducts and participates in pilot testing of educational material and sessions
  • Manage multiple internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Support, interact with and advise Managers and Senior Leadership
  • Instructional design, development, and evaluation of classroom-based and e-learning programs based on educational standards
  • Partner with subject matter experts and support their development and delivery of courses
  • Evaluate courses or programs, implement revisions, and update documentation to meet established curriculum standards
  • Ongoing development, implementation and recommendation of strategies related to assigned Talent Management areas to improve organizational effectiveness and business performance
  • Interfaces with client group employees, managers and leadership in the development and implementation of strategies and tactics to address their specific people issues
  • Support change management and organizational effectiveness initiatives
  • Make recommendations to corporate policies, processes and programs as they relate to Talent Management initiatives
  • Identify trends and best practices and provide recommendations of new approaches to ensure continuous improvement to Talent Management programs to meet internal stakeholder expectations, enhance employee satisfaction, engagement and performance

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Degree in Business, HR, Education or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 8 years’ of progressive Human Resources experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in workshop and curriculum design, development and facilitation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of organizational effectiveness, and performance management
  • Working knowledge of LMS
  • Understand and conceptualize a wide range of human resources subjects which can be applied to Talent Management initiatives and programs
  • Have strong analytical skills; able to solve problems by collaborating with others to seek input and by utilizing a logical, critical path
  • Possess strong communication skills, both written and oral: can write,edit and review training related documents and materials
  • Embody strong facilitation and presentation skills demonstrated by delivering subject matter to a diverse audience
  • Demonstrate the capability to develop and identify concepts/constructs from abstract information
  • A passion and enthusiasm for research, develop, lead and manage projects of varying complexity
