David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit for Talent Acquisition Specialist based in North York, Ontario.

70-80K base + bonus

Reporting to the Manager, Talent Acquisition & Development, your role as a Talent Acquisition Specialist is to manage the full cycle recruitment process for both Salaried and Hourly positions across Canada and the US for your designated Client Group.  In this fast-paced role, you will act as a Talent Advisor providing excellent service to both Candidates and Hiring Managers.  This role will also play a key role in the execution of projects and talent acquisition strategies that will help further develop the Talent Acquisition Function.

The Role:

  • Conduct Intake meeting with Hiring Managers to ensure alignment to the role requirements
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience by Interviewing in person or over the phone
  • Provide candidate recommendations to hiring managers
  • Coordinate with internal and external resources to arrange for candidate assessment,  travel, and background checks
  • Conduct debrief meetings with Hiring Managers to review candidate assessments and provide insights and recommendations
  • Present offers of employment and negotiate when required while ensuring compensation guidelines are being followed
  • Build strong relationships with hiring managers and key internal stakeholders
  • Build relationships with third-party sourcing partners, Agency vendors, College/Universities, Professional Associations etc.
  • Develop and prepare regular weekly status update documents and metrics for presentation to hiring managers and business leaders

The Ideal Candidate: 

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business or similar discipline
  • Minimum of 3-5 years full cycle recruitment experience, using an Applicant Tracking system preferably within a Corporate setting
  • Preference will be given to those applicants who have previous experience in recruiting Engineering or Manufacturing positions
  • Proven track record of sourcing candidates and filling roles in a geographically dispersed organization
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to occasionally travel throughout Canada and the USA
