David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client, a leader in the development and manufacturing of microwave signals and medical diagnostic imaging and RF energy generating products to recruit for a Supply Chain Specialist, Medical Devices.

The Role:

  • Research potential vendors and compare their products, prices, and services.
  • Develops and/or implements programs/processes of standardization, process improvement, cost reduction, cost avoidance, and cost containment.
  • Develop and implement strategies to create an efficient supply chain.
  • Proactively manage supplier base ensuring supply with no adverse impact on the business.
  • Resolve disruptions in supply to ensure production is not shut down.
  • Analyze, identify and understand supply chain risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate.
  • Effectively communicate with appropriate management levels both internally and externally.
  • Assist design engineering as interface with vendors for NPI projects as well as obsolescence.
  • Assist business development with reduced costing on major programs.
  • Manage liability in the supply chain as products reach EOL.
  • Consolidate our current supply base.
  • Ensure compliance with REACH, Conflict Minerals and ROHS.
  • Conduct business dealings with the highest level of integrity.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management/Business or other related field with minimum 5 years’ experience.
  • Demonstrated competencies in project management, analysis, problem solving/decision making, communications, and creativity/innovation.
  • Professional disposition, able to prioritize work and operate with little direction.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well organized self-starter.
  • Strong leadership, negotiating, influencing and persuasive skills required.
  • Understands and utilizes information to manage business processes. Leverages understanding of the supply chain function and business tools to complete work efficiently and effectively.
  • Strong ERP system knowledge and proficient with Microsoft Office.
