David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit a Senior Project Manager based in Edmonton, Alberta.

As the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for PMing the organization impacts of major changes to our primary pension administration legislation. You will interact with all levels of the organization up to and including the VPs, the Chief of Staff, the CEO, and potentially the plans board and other related committees.  

The Role:

  • Coordinate service proposals for types and levels of services that will be provided, both in terms of pension plan administration and services provided directly to the plan boards
  • Create presentations of professional quality articulating scope, benefits, assumptions, costing and all relevant information required
  • Liaise and coordinate with Information Services and Technology managers on system CRs required and secure dates for changes
  • Liaise and coordinate with the internal working group on issues and changes driven by the transition to EPPA/EPPR and other related pension governance and legislative changes
  • Liaise and coordinate with the Client Services function and other employees to research and coordinate questions and issues 
  • Project plan of changes related to joint governance/EPPA, integrated with all of the other business plans, divisional plans. project plans, strategies, etc., to ensure that resources, time and scope are aligned and properly communicated
  • Provide assistance to other divisions and departments to coordinate new activities (eg. Treasury management, financial reporting, etc.) or changes to existing processes and procedures
  • Determine change impacts, resources, scope and timing
  • Produce both regular and ad hoc status updates and reports on progress, critical items for discussion, challenges, etc., to the Executive Sponsor and Executive Steering Committee
  • Potentially deliver an implementation plan that details resulting projects, operational work, and associated timelines and impacts
The Ideal Candidate:

  • A very high level of business acumen and extensive experience working with senior levels of management
  • Experience working on politically sensitive projects is relevant
  • Experience working with government or para-government organizations would be a significant asset
  • Familiarity with policy interpretation, business process changes, resulting system changes, and project portfolio management 
  • Strong ability to manage timelines and deliverables
The vendors need to have first-hand experience of their candidates, and be able to speak directly to these requirements.

Rate: $125.00/hour, starting as soon as possible, expected contract end date of December 31, 2019.
