Our client is one of Canada’s largest project management companies specializing in the delivery of facility projects across Canada. Their expert team manages risk, maximizes opportunity and achieves success.
Pre-requisites and Required Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in an engineering or architectural or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience will be considered;
A minimum of 5-10 years experience as a Project Manager delivering large scale facility projects;
Familiarity with all types of construction project management models;
Extensive understanding of contract law as it applies to the industry;
Excellent organizational skills;
Strong computer skills, including MS Project, Word and Excel;
PMP Designation and LEED Accreditation preferred;
Professional engineer status considered an asset, but not mandatory;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Demonstrated strong leadership abilities.
Represent the client’s best interest with respect to contractual and technical issues related to the project;
Ensure that client expectations are met or exceeded on all projects for which they are responsible;
Select and organize project teams, including design consultants, specialty consultants and internal project staff;
Control project related documents in accordance with the procedure for document and data control and maintain filing systems;
Generate and maintain project-planning documentation, including schedules, cost control mechanisms, and work breakdown structures;
Review records and evaluate the results of inspections and tests conducted by sub-contractors and witness selected tests and inspections as necessary;
Coordinate the preparation and issue of tender documents;
Conduct site inspections, chair project and site meetings, resolve disputes between parties;
Process change requests, change orders, payment certificates and other contract or project related administrative documents;
Report to the Client and the Regional Manager regarding project status by means of schedule updates, minutes of meetings and financial records.
