David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit a Senior Payroll Administrator based in Edmonton, AB.

Our client is seeking a Senior Payroll Administrator to join their payroll team. As the Senior Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for reviewing and process complex, multi-cycle payroll system. Along with overseeing the administrative team, you will be involved with internal employees, temps/contractors and external sources to ensure payroll is processed in an accurate and timely manner.

The Role:

  • Review and process complex payroll, for multi-cycle payroll, including employees, self-employed and LTDs
  • Liaise with internal employees, temps/contractors and external sources
  • Answer all queries on contractor payroll 
  • Assist the Contractor Payroll Manager with investigating and resolving payroll issues
  • Ensure contractor/temp payroll is completed on time and accurately
  • Coordinate with invoicing for client set up
  • Process contractor/temp stops and Record of Employments
  • Manage contractor/temp information changes and revisions
  • Oversee the administrative team
  • Demonstrate best practices in quality, efficiencies and excellent customer service
The Ideal Candidate:

  • 4+ years' experience in a similar role, preferably processing full-cycle payroll  
  • PCP designation is preferred
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in payroll, accounting, or related business program would be considered an asset
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and provincial payroll guidelines 
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to collect and analyze information
  • Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment
  • High level of accuracy and confidentiality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Organized and detail-oriented with a strong ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Team-oriented attitude with the ability to take direction or work independently when necessary
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently
