David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit for a Risk Management Controls Analyst – 12 month contract.
Our Edmonton based client is looking for a Risk Management Controls Analyst to backfill for an upcoming maternity leave. The primary focus of the role is to operate the internal controls over financial reporting program (ICOFR), ensuring that internal financial controls are identified, designed appropriately, monitored and updated to mitigate financial reporting risks.
Work collaboratively with internal process owners to continuously update all control documentation related to financial reporting and systems.
Analyze the adequacy of internal controls over financial processes and computer systems.
Facilitate control self-assessment sessions for process owners.
Design, implement and monitor controls to mitigate risks identified.
Identify control weaknesses and make recommendations for improvement.
Be a consultative resource to internal process owners.
Provide training on internal controls and risk management systems in place.
Monitor changes in the business that may have an impact on financial reporting.
In addition, this position has responsibility over the accounts payable function for the organization which includes providing leadership to the team, responding to issues and questions, and working to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction.
The Ideal Candidate:
Has a university degree and professional accounting designation.
Experience with internal controls, risk management or internal audit.
Good communication skills with all levels of an organization.
Client focused and collaborative.
Good business acumen and the ability to problem solve.
