Our client, a global transportation organization, is seeking a seasoned Procurement Manager to oversee North American. The ideal candidate would come from industrial transport or construction background with extensive experience with contract formation and negotiation.
Provide effective execution of company policies and procedures relating to purchasing management (Including but not limited to safety and ethics).
Develop and Implement effective supplier relations programs to leverage the Company’s purchasing power.
Negotiate National and International purchasing agreements resulting in lowest possible cost of goods and services purchased while safeguarding safety, quality and reputation company standards.
Provide timely, accurate and adequate purchasing negotiation and purchasing administration activities.
Provide effective supervision of change activity to assure adequate protection of the company.
Review and analyze purchasing data to determine effectiveness of supplier and subsidiary company relations. Recommend methods of communication, problem resolution or proposal planning.
Provide timely, accurate and adequate problem identification, status reporting and corrective action.
Maintain effective relationships with purchasers, management, customers, support organizations, and project team members.
Supervise Purchasing Management staff across region.
Work with Senior Management leadership in regards to the development, implementation and support of Purchasing programs and procedures.
Work with Operations Management to plan and support Purchasing Management execution of the Business and Projects.
Coordinate with Operations. Project Management, Business Development, Legal, Finance and Insurance during any proposal preparation and project execution.
The Ideal Candidate:
University degree (BA or BS, or equal, preferred) with SCMP designation preferred.
Minimum 7+ years’ experience in supply management or related field, with specific experience in Purchasing Management.
Must be a proven leader, creating a dynamic work environment, with proven success developing, leading and mentoring a team.
Strong analytical thinking with ability to analyze alternatives, use sound judgment.
Ability to gather, analyze data and to work with figures.
Must have strong understanding of contractual law, contract formation and tendering process.
Good knowledge of Engineering, Procurement and Operational Service Company.
Must be able to demonstrate good work ethic and lead by example.
Strong organizational, planning and time management skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast paced service oriented environment.
Excellent Writing and Oral Communication skills.
Ability to travel regionally and internationally.
