David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit an experienced, results driven, customer focused individual to join their Payroll department to cover a minimum 6 month term Pension and Benefits Coordinator. 

This position may also become a temporary to hire opportunity. As the Pension and Benefits Coordinator your primary responsibilities will include assisting the Payroll Supervisor in administration of processing the pension and benefits using in-house Payroll / HR systems. The incumbent candidate should be a team player, quick learner, organized and have good time management skills.

The Role:

  • Administration, reconciliation, and reporting of pension and benefits using in-house integrated Payroll/HR systems
  • Prepare remittances and year-end reporting of pension adjustments
  • Reconciliation of pension deductions and remittances
  • Handle pension and benefits queries from internal and external customers
  • Set up new hires in the in-house system
  • Various administrative requests 
The Ideal Candidate:

  • Two plus years of experience administering multi-jurisdictional defined contribution and
    defined benefit plans required
  • Experience with ASO benefit plan administration considered an asset
  • The ability to perform in both a team environment and with little supervision
  • Demonstrated skill in completing projects and tasks under strict deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, with advanced Excel skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with high initiative
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Experience in payroll an asset, especially administering pension and benefits in a payroll environment
Salary is $19-24/hour depending on experience.

This is a minimum 6 month term position that may be extended and / or become a temporary to hire opportunity.
