David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client, a growing public company, to recruit a Payroll Manager based in their head office in Calgary, Alberta.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Payroll Manager who can implement stronger process and procedures, drive change, motivate and lead staff, and work well with senior leadership and operational areas.
Challenge the status quo, and look to drive changes through better payroll policies and procedures
Motivate and work with staff to ensure day to day payroll functions are occurring seamlessly
Communicate with various levels of the organization to gather information as it relates to payroll
Work with both unionized and non-unionized payrolls
Completion of payroll reporting as required for management and auditors
Certify payroll documentation and processes comply with Employment Standards and other regulatory bodies
Liaise with external payroll related regulatory bodies
Management of Canadian and US payrolls and pitching in with troubleshooting and hands-on work as required
Train, mentor, and coach team and conduct performance reviews
Handle staffing requirements for payroll team
Variance analysis and troubleshooting of any payroll issues
The Ideal Candidate:
5+ years as a Payroll Manager / Supervisor / Team Lead
Strong leadership and communication skills
Proven ability to work with senior leadership and operational staff
Experience with ADP Workforce Now a plus
Strong payroll systems skills
