The Operations Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient and profitable operation of the Parts, Service and Rental Departments across all 2 Southern Manitoba (and 1 Winnipeg) Branches.   The successful applicant will be responsible for the hiring, mentoring and coaching of a high functioning and skilled team of managers, parts specialist and technicians that focus on a high level of customer service.

The Role:

  • Develop the overall vision and strategy for the Parts, Service and Rental Departments in collaboration with the General Manager.
  • Monitor departmental performance against established goals for profitability, service levels, and service times compared to estimates, and act if Department falling short of goals.
  • Responsible for effectively managing staff, including recruitment, terminations, performance management and wage assessment.
  • Promote teamwork between departments and throughout the organization.
  • Coach and develop staff to ensure effectiveness in their role, safe work procedures, and cross training to support absence within the team.
  • Positively impact morale by setting and demonstrating a strong business ethic for dealing with customers, suppliers, and fellow staff.
  • Responsible for training plans of team in collaboration with the Parts, Rental and Service Managers.
  • Analyze weekly, monthly, and annual key performance indicators and industry trends against business metrics.
  • Handle Customer inquiries and complaints which are escalated from the Department; assist in addressing the concern and presenting options to resolve issue.
  • Measure and monitor key customer service areas including call handling, service turn-around time, first time requests, outstanding work orders, parts availability and customer satisfaction.
  • Periodically visit primary customers to monitor customer relations, needs, problems, and satisfaction with Dealership.
  • Ensure systems are in place for scheduling all service work, both customer and internal.
  • Responsible for growing all revenue streams at acceptable margins as set out by the business.
  • Perform other senior level duties as required
