David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client, one of the world's leading manufacturers and marketers of resin-based household and garden consumer products to recruit a Materials Manage for their Milton facility.

The Role:

The Materials Manager performs in a professional and efficient manner, a combination of duties mainly related, but not limited to, the inventory control of production material. The Materials Manager oversees monitors and coordinates all aspects of the inventory of production material. The Materials Manager is responsible for scheduling production and communicating inventory data to the appropriate departments.

  • Responsible for planning and overseeing the Master Scheduling, including creating and maintaining processes on the master plan.
  • Maintain inventories for finished goods, works in progress (WIP) and rawmaterials according to determinedlevels.
  • Schedule production, enter production datainto systems, generate production reports (graphs, spreadsheets, etc.) and distribute to the appropriate staff.
  • Communicate inventory data to the appropriate departments.
  • Order necessary materials and maintain tracking.
  • Document production move tickets and scrap tickets.
  • Perform outside molding duties as needed.
  • Perform daily production inspections.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning,assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Works with Human Resources to ensure completion of processes and procedures.
  • Oversees Logistics, Warehousing, Supply Chain Management, Planning, Procurement, Capacity Management and Inventory Management.
The Ideal Candidate:

  • College/University degree, and/or 3+ years’ experience in a related field.
  • Excellent ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with proven ability to express complex ideas in a simplified logical manner.
  • Strong public presentation and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of management.
  • Above average ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
