David Aplin Group is working with one of their great clients to find a Manager of Talent Acquisition for their operations. This client is well established in New Brunswick and has operations worldwide and is one of the top producers in their field.
The Talent Acquisition Manager will lead a team to support recruiting efforts across Irving Oil. This includes technical and strategic sourcing and acquisition as well as the development and enhancement of onboarding experiences designed to support increasing workforce effectiveness. The Talent Acquisition Manager will deliver recruitment strategies aligned with other talent strategies such as succession and resource planning.
Lead the design and implementation of consistent talent acquisition programs, policies, and procedures for designated geographic regions.
Lead a team of 3-4 specialists to fill all vacancies across the organization and build talent pipelines for future requirements.
Monitor the use, adoption, effectiveness, and compliance of talent acquisition processes, policies, and programs and make recommendations for change.
Provide subject matter expertise, advice and guidance for cases and inquiries that require deep talent acquisition and workforce planning.
Continuously assess talent acquisition and workforce planning program effectiveness. Modify programs based on effectiveness of programs and feedback.
Partner with Business HR to determine the needs for business specific talent acquisition programs.
Use benchmarking to create and share leading practices.
Partner with external third-party providers and develop contracting required to support talent acquisition and workforce planning programs.
Oversee talent acquisition team and other subordinate staff as appropriate including coaching, mentoring, and performance appraisals.
Other duties/responsibilities as required.
The Ideal Candidate:
Management / team leadership experience.
Strong understanding of talent acquisition and the current challenges in building talent pipelines.
Proven ability to build and develop workforce plans.
Proven ability to build talent acquisition strategies for a variety of disciplines.
Have worked with various KPIs important in talent acquisition.
Strong problem solving, collaborative, and negotiation skills.
Very strong oral and written communication skills.
8+ years of experience in a talent acquisition role.
5+ years in a management position.
Post-secondary education in HR, business, related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience working with third party talent acquisition providers.
CPHR designation is an asset.
Experience in multiple functional areas of HR an asset.
