David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit a talented Manager of Corporate Services.

We are looking for a passionate individual who will play a critical role in achieving the mission of the organization. The successful incumbent will be responsible for developing strategies and managing the day to day operations of the Corporate Services functions, namely, Facilities Maintenance and Management, Health & Safety, Risk Management, Inventory and Asset Management, Corporate Events and Meetings and Reception.

The Role:

  • Provide leadership and mentoring/coaching to the Corporate Services team, fostering a culture of high performance, teamwork, and innovation.
  • Develops annual work plans and provides oversight of the administration of services such as cleaning, maintenance, parking, safety inspections and property management including snow removal and landscaping.
  • Oversees the maintenance and repair of building systems (plumbing, water, heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning), the installation of building infrastructure and renovation projects.
  • Oversees space management and recommends the efficient use of building space to accommodate growth and/or operational requirements.
  • Provide support outside of regular business hours as a point of escalation for the Facilities On-Call program (e.g. facilities systems failures, fire or other emergency situations).

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in Corporate Services and Facilities Management.
  • Experience leading and managing teams.
  • Superior oral and written skills in English, with oral and written skills in French, would be considered a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of BOMA standards and practices.
  • Strong knowledge of all aspects of building operations, including but not limited to HVAC. Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life safety.
  • Knowledge of local and provincial workplace compliance regulations, ordinances, and legislation including building, safety and fire codes.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines who can work well under pressure.
