David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit for a Manager, Human Resources – Whitehorse, Yukon.

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Manager, Human Resources (HR) & Administration is accountable for managing the HR Centre of Excellence which includes the benefit and wellness programs, the recruitment process, the oversight of HRIS and administrative functions in the department. 

This position has responsibility for positively influencing employee relations from the day an employee joins the company through the on-boarding process, benefits and programs are offered as part of their overall compensation to the day the employee leaves the organization. This position is located in the core of Whitehorse, Yukon.

Are you an HR Professional motivated by having a positive impact on an organization? Do you have proven leadership and technical HR knowledge in the areas of employee policies, benefits and recruitment. This position influences the Company’s direction in its areas of responsibility. This position is also responsible for overseeing the recruitment strategy and process. Do you have a solid understanding of business operations, understanding client groups’ business and operational objectives and the ability to create alignment with the recruitment strategies and programs. In addition, the development and maintenance of the scholarship and summer student program are especially important in creating young, local talent.

This position requires the following qualifications:

  • Diploma/Degree in Business Administration or Human Resources Management
  • Minimum of five (5) years relevant experience; or a combination of experience and education
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication and listening skills
  • Proven ability to negotiate and resolve people issues
  • Excellent PowerPoint, Word and Excel skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a work environment prone to intensive periods of intensive activity with a constantly evolving client organization
  • Proven ability to build and sustain working relationships with all levels in the organization and outside stakeholders such as consultant and union organizations
