The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo is currently seeking a qualified, highly motivated, experienced individual for the position of Manager, Assessment. Responsible for overseeing activities in the Regional Assessor Department, the Manager, Assessment will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders on assessment issues.
Primary responsibilities also include:
Coaching, mentoring and training staff;
Providing daily work oversight and support to the Assessment Branch;
Working with the Regional Assessor to develop innovative and practical approaches for the delivery of services and programs;
Administering the CAMA system and providing strategic direction and recommendations based on industry best practices and legislated requirements;
Coordinating the taxable status of property;
Administration of Residential, Commercial/Industry and Special Use Property Assessment Programs;
Overseeing the analysis and evaluation of assessment valuation models;
Providing clarification and technical guidance to the public and interest groups; and
Ensuring the highest level of professional standards.
Starting Salary: $144,052 plus a competitive total compensation package
The successful candidate will possess:
A Degree in Commerce or Business Administration;
AACI Designation or A.M.A.A. Accreditation;
Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience working in a property assessment environment; and
Five (5) years’ experience at an intermediate management level directly supervising a team.
