David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit a Maintance Supervisor based in Edmonton, AB

This individual is responsible for overseeing various departmental functions that include repair and maintenance of equipment and assist the Maintenance Manager with any enquiries. Additionally, this position will be required to identify and implement practices and procedures that support the Company’s current business operations and future goals by achieving production efficiencies and cost savings through reliable technical productivity.  

The Role:

  • Support in the identification and implementation of practices, procedures and service systems and create opportunity to improve future production capacities and/or productivity.
  • Manage all aspects of security and preventative maintenance for the building, equipment and inventory.
  • Analyze equipment issues and identify solutions.
  • Programming and configuration of PLC, HMI and SCADA systems.
  • Control system hardware design, specification and troubleshooting.
  • Process review and analysis for Control System modifications and/or upgrades.
  • Monitor inventory needs based on inventory levels and maintenance trends.
  • Place purchase orders to ensure stock levels meet turnover goals and maintain complete, accurate and timely records regarding inventory management.
  • Assist Maintenance Manager with budgetary responsibilities and provide regular status updates.
  • Comply with all safety training and departmental SOPs, and with all regulations relating to equipment.
  • Ensure that all reporting employees are aware of, and comply with, company policies and procedures related to health and safety and to the environment and commit to personal compliance with same.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
The Ideal Candidate:

  • Post-secondary technical diploma or Journeyman Electrician.
  • Prior experience with PLC, Control Systems and instrumentation.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant industry technologies and codes.
  • Commitment to promoting and supporting health and safety in the workplace.
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities. 
  • Excellent time management and project management skills. 
  • Effective communication skills to build solid relationships.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
