David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client, a well-known Law firm to recruit 2 x Legal Assistants based in Edmonton, AB.

This position will report directly to, as well as support three Lawyers. The successful candidate will be an extremely polished individual with outstanding communication skills, and strong calendar management experience. Experience in dictation and high attention to detail is a MUST

The Role:

  • Managing and monitoring the front desk
  • Calendar management for three different Lawyers, one with international travel
  • Dictation for all three Lawyers
  • Answering and directing calls using a multi-line switchboard
  • Answering emails on behalf of the Lawyers
  • Providing assistance to visitors and clients
  • Processing incoming and outgoing mail
  • Ordering office supplies
  • Ensuring the kitchen and front desk areas are kept clean

The Ideal Candidate:

  • 1 year of Legal Assistant experience
  • Intermediate MS Word skills with the ability to draft memos
  • Intermediate Excel skills with the ability to create basic spreadsheets and enter data
  • Professional image and excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Polished and friendly personality
  • Previous dictation experience
  • Strong drafting and editing skills
  • The ability to prioritize and multi-task
