David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit a Legal Assistant based in Winnipeg.

Supporting the corporate secretary’s department of one of Winnipeg's premier employers, this will be an ideal opportunity for an experienced Legal Assistant to gain experience outside of a law firm setting.

The Role:

  • Preparing and filing of annual documentation including contracts and renewals
  • Writing and drafting of legal documents such as letters, contracts, and regulatory filings
  • Tracking and diarizing of reports and deadlines
  • Working closely with both in-house counsel and external contacts and acting as a key liaison for time sensitive information
  • Administrative duties such as meeting arrangements, scheduling, expense reports and word processing
The Ideal Candidate:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant
  • Strong editing, drafting, and blacklining abilities
  • Must be task and detail-oriented, with special attention to completeness and accuracy
  • Effective with scheduling and meeting deadlines
  • Sound analytical skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, supported by a consultative and respectful personal style
  • High energy level and a positive, professional demeanor
  • Proficiency with computerized technology
  • Self-motivated and ability to work well under pressure

  • The target salary range for this position is $50,000 to $55,000 plus a competitive bonus structure, and an excellent benefits and pension plan
