David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit a Legal Assistant based in Edmonton, Alberta.
Our client, a highly regarded and well-established regional law firm,is looking to recruit an experienced Legal Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will also function as a high level Executive Assistant and must have experience in Labour & Employment or Professional Regulatory Law.
They are passionate about customer service, so if you like to work closely with clients and lawyers, and have the ability to engage positively, then we want to hear from you!
General Legal Administrative tasks and Executive Assistant duties
Assist in preparing and revising legal documents and correspondence (dictation or drafting)
Organize production documents, prepare accounts and written briefs
Monitor and maintain file progress
Manage a lawyer's calendar and practice
Be the main point of contact with clients, liaise with legal assistants, paralegals, and other lawyers on file progress
The Ideal Candidate:
Demonstrated minimum 3+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant
Experience in Labour & Employment or Regulatory Law
Strong computer skills
Strong attention to details and accuracy at all times
Possesses excellent verbal and written skills
Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to demonstrate sound judgement to ensure continuity and integrity of records internally and at the client level
Successful completion of a paralegal or legal assistant program from a recognized educational institution
A combination of education and experience may be considered an asset
