David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit a Lead Tester on a 6 month contract, based in Ottawa, ON.
We are looking for a passionate individual who will play a critical role in achieving the mission of the organization. More specifically, this individual will support the user acceptance testing and end-to-end testing phases of several project streams of the program.
Lead and participate in the creation of testing artefacts (test plans, test scenarios, test cases, preparation of test data, etc.) with the Business Analyst, as part of the project management life cycle.
Provide leadership on the User Acceptance and End-to-End Testing phases of the International program working with a team of business users, business analysts and technical team and actively contribute to business readiness.
Provide direct support to the business analysts in the coordination and execution of testing activities (management of test releases, logging bugs, confirmation of fixes, coordination of re-testing etc.)
Ensure adherence to defined and repeatable processes and conducting regular reviews to ensure deliverables conforms to testing standards.
Provide testing mentorship and coordination support to the testing teams in all testing relates work packages.
The Ideal Candidate:
Degree from an accredited college or university, preferably business administration, information management, information technology or other related discipline.
Excellent knowledge on project methodologies and processes including Unified Modelling Language, Software Development Life Cycle (Agile & Waterfall) and Project Management Life Cycle.
At least 5 years as a lead or senior tester role, participating in IT programs or project implementations within medium or large size organization.
Must have worked on any of the RDBMS such as SQL Server and MS Access and can write and understand SQL queries.
Experience with code and test management tools such as Test Foundation Server (TFS)
Automation testing experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Conflict resolution skills, tact, diplomacy, maturity, integrity and a high level of autonomy.
Excellent written, oral and group facilitation skills, experience in preparing reports, briefing materials, presentations, testing plans etc.
