The David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, is pleased to be partnered with our client, a world-class Engineered Solutions and Service provider to the Marine, Mining and hydro-power industries, on a nationwide search to find an experienced In-Situ Project Machinist for a position immediately available in beautiful British Columbia.
As part of an integral team, the In-Situ Project Machinist will be responsible for providing on-site client consultations and conducting in-situ machining and equipment servicing for Marine clients around coastal North and South America.
The Role:
  • Perform Engine and crankshaft inspections and in-situ Machining using crankshaft machining tools, and line-boring using boring bars
  • Tool calibration and verification, use of laser and optical alignment and mechanical measuring equipment
  • Perform site audits.
  • Collect and organize time and expense reports.
  • Safely execute all work according to company standards.
  • Assist in the remanufacturing work shop as required.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience performing in-situ repair or maintenance on Diesel engines
  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Marine Engineering/Automation, or comparable combination or training and experience
  • BC Trade Qualification (TQ) in Machining considered an asset
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Willing to travel internationally
