We have partnered with our client to recruit a Human Resources Manager to join our rapidly growing facility, located in Edson, Alberta. This is a great opportunity for any HR professional to dive into the cannabis industry and be on the forefront for setting HR benchmarks. The successful applicant will be responsible for a variety of HR initiatives and delivery of HR tasks. The  HR Manager will be reporting directly to the Facility Director.

The Role:

  • Providing service to the organization in support of HR management
  • Working with senior management to identify and plan for acquisitions and general recruitment strategies to meet business   requirements
  • Applicant screening and interviewing in conjunction with various department managers
  • Preparation of employment offers on behalf of the department managers
  • Preparation and execution of new employee orientation program
  • Development and maintenance of Human Resources policies and procedures, reflective of current and changing legislation
  • Development and leadership of the company’s Health and Safety Committee and other safe work strategies
  • Collaboration with administration and finance teams to prepare regular required management summary reporting
  • Maintenance of personnel files and other employee records both in electronic and hard copy as required
  • General administration tasks as necessary
The Ideal Candidate:

  • Human Resources Certificate or Diploma in Human Resources with 5+ years of progressive generalist experience
  • Proficient understanding and knowledge of Human Resources principles, best practices and applicable HR legislation
  • Thorough understanding of payroll activities
  • High attention to detail and organization of multiple tasks, open to assisting all areas through growth
  • Advanced Microsoft Office suite skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt and think quickly on their feet
  • Advanced ability to demonstrate discretion, consideration, negotiation and diplomacy in interactions with all staff
  • CHRP Designation an asset
