We have partnered with our client who is a leader in food production to hire a Human Resources Manager based in their Lethbridge plant location.
Working with leadership, the HR Manager is responsible for delivering all Human Resources services to the plant operations, including direction and support to leaders, management and staff in areas such as leadership development, performance management, human rights, employment law, labour law, labour relations, HR policy interpretation and conflict resolution.
Identify key HR initiatives for the Plant, ensure they are aligned with the operational strategy.
Facilitate execution of organizational development and change management initiatives which will drive culture change.
Deliver and promote all aspects of performance management, work environment practices, rewards and recognition, retention, leadership development, compensation, employee development and advancement, diversity and employee satisfaction.
Consistent in ensuring corporate values are followed and underlie all human resources activities.
Ensure successful onboarding and retention programs are in place.
Act as a business partner with the leadership group.
Collaborate and communicate with all levels of staff.
Track key performance indicators such as attendance, turnover, retention, etc.
Administration of collective agreement. Handle all aspects of Labour Relations including grievance and disciplinary investigation
Investigate and resolve employee/management concerns/complaints/harassment.
Provide leadership on the administration of employee benefit, payroll, pension programs and HRIS.
Prepare HR budgets and ensure they are adhered to.
Build and maintain positive working relationships to all staff and management.
The Ideal Candidate:
Minimum 5 – 7 years of progressive Human Resources experience with unionized and non-union employees and a minimum 2 years supervisory experience.
Preference will be given to individuals with CPHR designations.
Post-secondary degree with a concentration in Human Resource Management, business or related field.
A strong track record of excellent client support and partnering with others.
Excellent verbal/written communication; strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
Experience with Health and Safety, Kronos, SAP desired.
Must have the ability to multi task in a fast paced, demanding manufacturing environment.
Proven ability to coach, teach, and lead others.
Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and develop positive working relationships.
Understanding for food production or manufacturing is considered an asset.
