David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit a Human Resources Manager based in Edmonton, AB. 


The Human Resources Manager provides organizational support to their retail and distribution operations, based out of the Edmonton central location to manage the development, implementation and maintenance of Human Resource programs and services in the following areas: Human Resources Planning, Learning and Development programs, Recruitment and Selection, Orientation/Onboarding, Performance Management including progressive discipline and termination, Health and Safety, Compensation and Benefits, Employee Relations, Reward and Recognition and Employee Engagement.


The Role:

  • Develop and manage annual budgets for the HR department and perform periodic cost and productivity analyses.

  • Recommend and establish company policies and procedures. Serve on planning and policy-making committees.

  • Work with department managers and corporate team to develop annual business plans for the company.

  • Work closely with leadership and General Managers on coaching and development

  • Provide leadership and support with respect to environmental, health and safety initiatives

  • Oversee compensation programs to ensure regulatory compliance and competitive salary levels. Oversee the design and development of compensation strategy and programs.

  • Manage the administration of the benefits program. Evaluate and recommend improvements to benefit programs.

  • Evaluate procedures and technology solutions to improve human resources data management.

  • Create company strategic recruitment and selection plan.

  • Champion all HR initiatives.


The Ideal Candidate:

  • Completion of a Degree or Certificate in Human Resources and 7+ years of experience in a senior-level Human Resource position.

  • Experience in strategic planning and execution.

  • Proven coaching and leadership skills

  • Experience in design, development and implementation of budgets, salary and benefits programs.

  • Proven professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of payroll compliance and processing

  • Able to travel to Calgary from time to time
