David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit a HR Business Partner based in Edmonton, ABOur client a a specialized benefits organization is looking for a focused, driven and ambitious Human Resources  Business Partner, to serve as a mentor and leader for the organization. Reporting to the HR Division Manager the successful candidates will have at least 3-5 years experience in a similar role and will be extremely passionate about HR and putting people first!

The Role:

  • Understanding business goals and policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity and development of HR within the company
  • Ensuring a high level of employee engagement in a changing work environment
  • Using influence and coaching skills to cultivate a culture that reflects the values and principles of the organization
  • Dealing with performance management, employee relations, compensation, career development and leadership development
  • Assessing employee engagement on a proactive, ongoing basis
  • Acting as a mediator as well as coaching to develop leaders
  • Acting as the main resource for employees for working through issues 
  • Ensuring job descriptions re evaluated 
  • Conducting market research
  • Ensuring program policy and procedures are adhered to and that programs are on par with industry standards
  • Developing ideas and proposals for continuous improvement of training tools and infrastructure


    The Ideal Candidate:

  • 3-5 years in a HR Business Partner or Senior Generalist
  • Confident, passionate and driven 
  • Ability to coach and mentor managers and staff 
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills - Tractability 
  • Additional experience as a generalist is important, and a background in recruiting is required
