David Aplin Group, one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client in Ottawa to recruit a talented Help Desk Analyst. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working with the Information Systems Department to provide IT support to the user community. Our client is looking for an individual who is organized, keen to learn, and a team-player, who will be joining a team of customer service focused analysts and technicians who are responsible for ensuring a fully functioning and well-maintained IT infrastructure.

The Role:

  • Provide over the phone, remote session IT support to colleagues, as well as provide outstanding support to the user community
  • Follow Help Desk processes and log reported incidents into the Incident Management System
  • Fulfill IT requests, communicate unresolved issues, and initiate approval processes for service requests, as well as follow-up on the status of open incidents
  • Provide outstanding after-hours pager support in a rotation schedule
  • Follow new store set up procedures and timelines for new openings, as well as rollout schedules and processes to ensure efficient installation of new hardware and software
  • Attend/ Travel to new store openings to provide onsite support when required
The Ideal Candidate:

  • Post-Secondary education in an Information Technology related discipline
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a Help Desk role, and in an IT environment
  • Bilingual in English/ French is essential, both verbally and in writing
  • Solid understanding of computer hardware and peripherals
  • Flexible to carry an after-hour pager on evenings and weekends in a rotational schedule
  • Assist in other areas of It support outside of Help Desk when required
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Previous retail experience an asset
  • Understanding pf ITIL framework as asset
