David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client, a leader in the building construction industry, to recruit for an experienced and ambitious General Sales Director in the Pembina Valley region.

The role of the General Sales Director is to oversee, lead, guide, coach and motivate the sales team and to develop and implement the sales strategy on behalf of the company.  

One’s ability to forge strong relationships both internally and externally is paramount for success in this role.  If you’re a passionate leader with a history of sales achievements and the drive to push a business forward, this is the role for you.     

The Role:

  • Identify and engage new business opportunities through networking and client development
  • Actively develop and promote initiatives to grow product sales across the different sales channels
  • Maintain a book of key accounts      
  • Establish relationships to build on current contracts and grow client accounts
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and lead the sales team
  • Monitor work flow to manage expectations and resources 
  • Conduct ongoing systems and operating assessments to optimize performance
  • Accountability for sales division profitability including budgeting, forecast reports, ROI & objectives
The Ideal Candidate:

  • Rapport building and relationship-focus is key 
  • Holds a Certificate and or Bachelors Degree in Business, Sales / Marketing
  • 7 - 10 + years of experience in Outside Sales
  • 5 + years in a Management Capacity
  • Someone looking for a role that blends both leadership and business development responsibilities 
  • Adapts well to changes in a dynamic industry
  • Clear and concise communicator 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to work in a team environment to coach, mentor and motivate staff
  • Demonstrated client liaison, sales and business development skills
  • Experience with residential new home construction (an asset)
