David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit a Receptionist based in Edmonton.

Our client, a well-known Engineering firm, is looking for a Receptionist to join their executive office ASAP for 1 month, with the possibility of an extension. This position will report directly to the Office Manager and will assist with every aspect of Reception and Administration for the office. The successful candidate will be outgoing, personable, detailed, have previous administrative experience and be willing to go above and beyond to help out.

If you have intermediate MS Word and skills, and enjoy working in family oriented environments, then this may be the opportunity for you!

The Role:

  • Greeting visitors in a professional manner and directing them to the appropriate area
  • Answering over 100 phone calls and email inquiries and confirming appointments with customers
  • Ensuring the front desk is tidy, organized and presentable
  • Processing incoming and outgoing mail
  • Booking meeting rooms
  • Attending meeting and taking minuets 
  • Editing and drafting memos
  • Ordering office supplies
  • Data entry into an Excel spreadsheet
  • Ordering business cards
  • Keeping kitchen area clean
  • Any other administrative duties as required
The Ideal Candidate:

  • 9 months of experience in a similar role
  • Intermediate MS Word and Excel skills, with the ability to work with spreadsheets and templates
  • Excellent customer service skills and a friendly demeanor
  • Empathetic nature
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Professionalism
