David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit an Engineering Manager - Nuclear Services based in Niagara Falls, ON.

The Role:

  • Responsible for all aspects of engineering management related to the plant, production, to product control and customer relations.
  • Manage multi-discipline projects ranging from design, build, and installation of production equipment and physical plant maintenance.
  • Management and interaction with all cross-functional project team members including, Engineering, Maintenance, Operations and the leadership team.
  • Develop and Coordinate equipment overhaul and upgrade projects.
  • Coordinate and review the work of Sub Contractors and maintenance staff who are participating in capital projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and execute Project Work Plans and Schedules activities for capital and major expense projects.
  • Complete machine design and equipment layout assignments as required.
  • Provide guidance, direction and design upgrades for existing equipment and physical plant
  • Provide regular status reports to the rest of the Management Team as required

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Mechanical/Electrical or Manufacturing Engineer Degree with a PEng. designation
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Working Knowledge of ASTM codes in design and quality as they relate to the nuclear industry a must
  • Knowledge of welding technologies and CWB weld inspection procedures and familiarity with ACI Standards used in precast concrete technologies
  • Proven project management experience related to Preventative Maintenance system implementation, equipment procurement, equipment installation, and equipment overhaul work
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems, cranes, mobile equipment, heavy machine tools, and welding technologies and systems
  • Design toll proficiency preferably with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
  • Experience managing Contractors, Machine Design, and Trades
  • Highly motivated, with superb interpersonal and leadership skills
  • A good command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision
