Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit for an entry level technician of Mobile Service and installation with a well established company in the Ottawa region.

The Role:

  • Install and maintain company products and hardware
  • Load and unload shipments from vehicles
  • Disperse installation materials to various locations
  • Perform service on automatic, manual and mechanical doors
  • Maintain truck inventory and company vehicle
  • Support other technicians and keep all parties current on job status
  • Maintain a good driving record
  • Create accurate logs for timesheets, project numbers and job details and equipment labels and ensure that all paper work is completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner
  • Provide excellent customer service on a regular basis to customers, end-user and contractors
  • Participate in training programs and stay current will all requirements for installations
  • Read and direct floor plans
  • Measure and make guidelines for installation.
  • Work in a fast paced environment
  • Keep AAADM certification up-to-date
  • Promote safety for colleagues, general public and end users
  • Ensure that all health and safety codes are met
 The Ideal Candidate:

  • Must have current WHMIS and Fall Protection training, asset
  • An asset to be familiar with various automated installations such as, but not limited to, Automatic door operators, automatic gate systems, door hardware and frames.
  • Experience within carpentry or as an electrician considered an asset
  • 2-4 years’ experience in the automatic door industry would be an asset
  • Must be able to obtain secrete clearance
  • Strong communication skills (Written and Verbal)
  • Bilingualism considered an asset
  • Must have experience and intensive knowledge of hand and power tools
  • Ability to life 75lbs on a continuous basis.
  • Ability to climb ladders, lift, bend, and work on knees for extended periods of time
