David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit a Divisional Director of Finance based in Cambridge, Ontario.
Our client is looking for a Divisional Director of Finance to act as a key strategic business partner providing financial leadership, support, and analysis. With a strong history and track record, this manufacturing company is at the stage in their life cycle where they are ready to step to the next level. This will occur through a combination of organic growth, potential acquisition as well as implementation of ambitious business improvement strategies. The fitting candidate will use financial metrics to help make strategic business decisions to effect business growth. The Role:
Provide financial advice and expertise in running business activities.
Create divisional operating budgets/forecasts and cash flows as well as analyze financial results (including working closely with field management) to identify trends and activities driving those results and makes recommendations on potential changes, both operational and financial in nature, to improve performance.
Drives the business planning process, including partnering with executive leadership, product line management, sales team and Regional Managers to develop metrics to effectively run the business.
Prepare and assist in presentation of periodic financial reports, strategic plans/initiatives, budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections and ad hoc reports to senior management.
Monitor and report progress/compliance made on operational improvement initiatives to drive accountability.
Preparation of short and long-range forecasts, including operating and capital budgets.
Preparation of financial comparisons and explanations of actual and budget/forecast variance.
Compilation of data based on statistical studies and analyses of past and current periods to prepare budgets and forecasts and their supporting schedules.
Distribution of weekly/monthly performance management metrics/tools.
Develop “best practices” and promote standardization of such practices across the locations in regards to the financial analysis process.
The Ideal Candidate:
Professional Designation required At least 7+ years prior experience in a related/similar role.
Influential personality complimented with the ability to coordinate change.
Proven ability to work with Microsoft Office and complex ERP systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Manufacturing, costing and revenue recognition experience is required.
