David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our Regina customer to provide them with a Disability and Attendance Support Specialist. Our customer is a leader in the manufacturing industry, and is experiencing significant growth within their HR team. This position provides support, leadership and direction to the administration of the Disability Management and Attendance Support programs and ensures both legislative compliance and optimization of outcomes.
Working within a highly confidential and professional environment, duties will include:
Provide expertise in the area of Disability Management and Attendance Support
Provide leadership and guidance to management and employees to ensure timely and effective case management
Provide consultation and decision making on complex claims and escalate inquiries to the Manager Human Resources
Follow best practice and legislative obligations with respect to the development of workplace accommodations
Track claims experience, define trends and assist in developing recommendations for proactive strategies
Ensure benefit coverage is in compliance with collective agreements and legislative requirements
The Ideal Candidate:
Charted Professional in Human Resources designation
University graduate or equivalent in a related field
Disability Management Designation (Certified Disability Management Professional or Certified Return to Work Coordinator)
2-5 years’ experience in a related field such as disability/WDCB, health & safety, human resources or occupational health
Demonstrated experience in disability management programs and claims management
Experience with complex claims management in a unionized environment
In-depth knowledge of relevant provincial legislation including Workers Compensation Act, Human Rights and Accessibility legislation
