David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit a Director, Sales and Marketing, based in Edmonton, AB. 

Our client, a leading helical pile provider, is seeking a strong leader who will play a critical role in supporting company growth and scale across Canada and the US. The role will be instrumental in contributing to the company’s overall strategy by gaining insight into the markets, identifying opportunities for expansion, and implementing marketing plans. More specifically, the Director, Sales and Marketing, will be responsible for business and market development, market research, and the overall strategic direction of company sales, promotion, and marketing.

The Role:

  • Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals 
  • Achieve satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to preset standards and industry and economic trends 
  • Establish relationships with industry influencers and strategic partners 
  • Meet with key clients and assist sales personnel with client opportunities 
  • Develop and manage sales & marketing operating budgets and appropriate forecasting 
  • Plan and oversee all advertising and promotional activities and develop/recommend service positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy 
  • Oversee and evaluate market research and adjusts marketing strategy to meet current conditions 
  • Monitor competitor services, projects, sales and marketing activities 
  • Prepare all marketing activity reports and present to executive management 
  • Support the professional development and training of regional sales staff
  • Collaborate with regional sales teams to develop corporate sales strategies 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in sales, marketing or business administration
  • 7+ years of related progressive management experience in sales & marketing within the industrial construction industry
  • Experience in consultative sales within the industrial construction industry selling a service
  • Knowledge of construction and project management practices
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project)
  • Background in Oil and Gas/Construction Industries
  • Experience working with CRM systems
  • An adaptable, high integrity leader with a strong business acumen
  • Sound knowledge of business and operating models, financial modeling, and business analytics
