David Aplin Group has partnered with our client, a leading specialty trades supplier of raw materials to the footwear industry. They are currently seeking a Director of Sales to manage the business development, customer relationships and identify opportunities for expansion. Reporting to the President, the Director of Sales will develop sales and communications strategies that support the organization’s goals.
In addition to developing strategies in collaboration with the team, this position will also be accountable for the implementation and execution of growth targets. The Director will manage a team of sales staff and agents.
Plan, develop all key performance metrics, territory management, and sales analysis through Salesforce.com platform
Be knowledgeable about national and local market trends and identify opportunities to develop new business.
Manage and designate territories to be handled by Inside Sales.
Oversee all Account Management with a focus on developing and executing specific business strategies to achieve corporate sales growth objectives, and maintain relationships with customers.
Develop annual, long-term inside sales plans and conduct performance appraisals of the sales staff.
Recommend management action to improve standard operations, procedures and processes.
Regular and effective communication with the sales team by providing support, coaching and individual development plans with feedback and progress updates.
Participate in agreed industry trade shows and events to help build the brand and market penetration.
Complete annual performance management, development plans and regular reviews with direct reports.
Ensure clarity of department goals and expectations to staff at all times, with effective communication.
Post-secondary degree with 10+ years in a sales management capacity.
A proactive and highly organized approach with an ability to motivate, persuade and deal with all levels of individuals internally and externally.
Strong analytical, presentation and communication skills.
Preference will be given to bilingual (French & English) candidates.
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PP) with strong computer and analytical skills.
Proficient in the use of CRMs -preferably SalesForce.com
