David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client, one of the world's leading manufacturers and marketers of resin-based household and garden consumer products to recruit a Demand Planner for their Milton facility.
The Demand Planner will facilitate a demand forecast between Sales & Marketing and the Supply Chain group; driven by customer insight and mathematical modeling tools. The Demand Planner is the single point of contact in facilitating the forecasting process for all SKUs and as such drive the ability to provide accurate manufacturing schedules and high levels of customer service at the appropriate levels of cost.
Reviewing and monitoring statistical models to assist in analyzing system generated forecasts.
Maintaining and monitoring characteristic combinations of tables in the coordination of forecasting activities.
Assisting in the development and maintenance of all account-based tactical forecasts.
Spearheading the consensus forecast session with representatives from Sales and Marketing.
Point person between Sales and Operations planning process.
Increase revenue and profitability and minimize risk by generating and managing accurate item level demand forecasts.
Provide insight related to key customer POS at Monthly sales recap and planning meetings.
Assist in the management of the flow of goods through the supply chain by working directly with the Purchasing and Distribution Planning teams.
Effectively communicate weekly POS results and trends to the Sales, Operations, Distribution Planning, and Marketing teams.
Partner with the Sales teams to develop regional and promotional opportunities based on market share data, trends, and the market's competitive landscape.
Build and maintain great working relationships with the Sales team and all functional areas within ABM.
The Ideal Candidate:
Proven proficiency in spreadsheet and database applications is required.
Microsoft Word, Excel (Advanced to Intermediate level), Access and PowerPoint is required.
Experience communicating complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels, both in writing and verbally, is required.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of management.
Proven ability to identify and generate recommendations through strategic and actionable analysis.
Experience pulling POS data from retailer websites and generating weekly and monthly POS/Sell thru reports.
Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years' experience in Sales or Operational planning in a Consumer Products Organization.
Retail planning experience a plus.
Knowledge of SAP (including APO and Business Warehouse) preferred.
Knowledge of retailer processes and tools (including vendor portals) preferred.
