Our client, an Alberta-based private College, is in search of a College Director to direct and oversee the operations of the College across 3 campuses. Reporting to the CEO, the College Director provides leadership in the areas of operations, admissions, finance, academics, and career services.

The Role:

  • Directing and overseeing activities related to the College.
  • Planning and growing the College as a profitable business while reinforcing the mission and education standards.
  • Monitoring education delivery to ensure compliance with the implementation of the curriculum, and the achievement of student outcomes.
  • Directing, coaching, managing, and developing all 3 campuses to ensure the quality delivery of services and education programs through prioritizing resources, facilitating alignment of the team, setting high expectations, inspiring commitment, encouraging mutual support and enabling development opportunities.
  • Managing key metrics of the College, including new student enrollment, retention, revenue, starting salaries, and student, graduate, and employer satisfaction.
  • Maintaining membership with the Alberta Association of Career Colleges, National Association of Career Colleges and any additional associations or boards that increase the brand of the College.
  • Liaising with the business community to ensure awareness of labour market trends that may impact training programs.
  • Researching new programs, seeking out available curriculums for purchase across Canada and/or contracting the development of curriculum materials, and managing the career training licensing process.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Completion of a post-secondary degree. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a private post-secondary environment considered an asset.
  • Experience in online education/training delivery considered an asset.
  • Strong people and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong business sense and understanding of trends in the Alberta labour market.
  • Experience in conducting KPI analyses and interpreting budgetary and statistical data.
The ability to travel to other locations across Alberta up to 4 days/month will be integral to success in the role.
