Due to growth in the industry, our client in the Transportation industry requires a Claims Administrator for an immediate temporary opportunity. While they are seeking someone who will be in this role for a while, they also want someone who will be available for an ongoing opportunity and potentially to be able to join their organization.
Adjudicate claim files, property accident and cargo claims
Gather information through various internal and external resources to negotiate and settle claims
Processing high volume claims
Receive and review incident reports and claim investigation material including Motor Accident Reports, Property Damage and Warehouse Exception reports
Collaborate with representatives from insurance companies on bringing claim to resolution
Coordinate with the Fleet and Maintenance departments as well as recovery companies to get damaged vehicles and equipment repaired in a timely manner
Provide required documentation for claims
Negotiate and resolve motor vehicle accident claims as well as cargo and property loss with third parties and customers
Handle internal claims and communicate effectively with vendors in a timely manner
Administer the financial aspects of the claims including establishing claim reserves, internal cost allocation, processing loss payments and subrogation collection
This position will also require an on call rotation every 4 - 5 weeks
Other administrative duties as required
Hours are Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm
The Ideal Candidate:
Two plus years of Insurance claims and Transportation industry experience is required
Completion of High School is required
Completion of Post Secondary Business Administration or equivalent course required
2 years experience handling auto and cargo losses
Office experience with an emphasis on customer service is also an asset
Intermediate level in Word and Excel
Must have a typing speed of over 40 wpm
Finely tuned attention to detail with an ability to multitask in a demanding environment
Ability to problem solve, self-motivated and work independently
Good negotiation skills and customer service focus
Insurance Institute of Canada (CIP Program) designation considered asset
Salary will depend on experience and is $19.00 - $26.00 per hour.
