David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our 'top tier' client to recruit a Business & Financial Planning Manager based in Edmonton.
Our client is a North American leader in their industry with a passion for innovation and growth both in their existing business and through strategic acquisition. They are seeking an individual who is hard working, self-motivated, and possesses strong business-oriented analytical thinking to join their team. The role works closely with internal stakeholders throughout the business, acting as a key player in providing effective analytics of financial and non-financial information with respect to capital assets.
Preparation and analysis of information as it relates to fixed assets, inventory and rental equipment and accurate recording of disposals, acquisitions and depreciation
Working closely with management, prepares modelling and analysis of financial and non-financial information and develops reporting to enable strong business decision making
Responsible for periodic financial activities including the preparation of financial reports and analysis ensuring they are in accordance with requisite financial standards
Ensure fixed assets are set up according to the company’s policy
Continually develop, expand and improve financial reporting procedures to ensuring best practices and a culture of excellence
Coordinate projects and initiatives with other members of the finance, procurement, fleet management and treasury functions.
Work to development accurate budgets and forecasts
Act as a partner to the business to ensure understanding of how the date reflects on operations and build meaningful relationships to become a trusted advisor for operations
The Ideal Candidate:
Bachelor’s degree required with relevant experience in Analytics
Proven knowledge and experience with capital assets, financial analysis, and business intelligence concepts
Strong Microsoft Excel skills including data manipulation and modeling would be advantageous
Relevant experience in report preparation for various business minded stakeholders
Strong Communication skills to work with stakeholders to reach a common goal
Proven ability to prioritize tasks under tight timelines in a fast-paced environment
Solid accounting and knowledge internal controls over financial reporting
Strong attention to detail
