Our client, a leader in the air conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation and heating sectors, is seeking a Branch Director to be based in Edmonton to help set up and develop their northern Alberta team! As one of the largest independent distributors in Eastern Canada, this expanding organization is being led by a brilliant leader who is known and respected for his open and collaborative leadership style, which supports everyone’s success! The Role:

  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate branch operations, including sales, operations and P/L
  • Prepare and administer operational budgets 
  • Interview, hire and oversee training of all staff
  • Direct and advise staff while creating a positive working environment that supports sales efficiency and ensures the development of all 
  • Support client services, work with larger clients and offer technical support where needed across the branch
  • Determine effective sales strategies that help to achieve company objectives
  • Develop and maintain good business relations with suppliers and all other internal and external parties
  • Plan and participate in annual inventory
  • Keep informed of markets, trends and developments in the industry and competitors’ activities
The Ideal Candidate:

  • Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or related technical background
  • Experience in team management in a related technical discipline
  • Demonstrated proficiency in professional sales and sales delivery
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office programs and Windows
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused professional approach to business
  • Displays a proven aptitude for leadership, motivation and coaching while focusing on people and results 
  • Adept technical knowledge of products
  • Strong time management, organizational and decision-making skills
  • Ability to close sales, negotiate and work efficiently under pressure
  • Demonstrated sense of initiative and resourcefulness
